Humanities Commons is a larger umbrella for our societal and organizational nodes. When you sign up through another Commons–such as HASTAC Commons–you automatically have access to Humanities Commons, including any public groups.
If you are looking to register for Humanities Commons directly, visit our membership page or click “Register” in the top right corner of the home page. If your society, organization, or institution is part of our network, register for an account directly through their Commons site using the same email address you’ve provided the organization directly. For example, HASTAC Commons users should register with the button on the HASTAC home page. This will ensure your new Commons profile is automatically associated with the correct organization or society.
What if I already have a Humanities Commons account?
If you already have an account with HCommons and recently joined a society, institution, or organization with a Commons node, you should be able to log in as you usually have. Profiles will appear consistently across all Humanities Commons sites so you won’t need to create a new profile or account.
If you’re not seeing your organizational or societal affiliation, contact the society first to confirm your membership. Once they’ve confirmed you are a member and we’ve received your membership information, contact us at hello@hcommons.org if you are still not able to access the correct Commons node.
What if I no longer have access to my organization’s affiliated email address or need to change it?
If you are a society or organization member and no longer have access to the email address associated with your membership, contact hello@hcommons.org. We will be able to add your new address and provide instructions for setting it as the default.
